One of the key goals of government and private business enterprise today, is to
find economic ways to empower field personnel with timely information. The need
to be anywhere and have access to the Internet, corporate or city intranet,
email and strategic databases has just been significantly upgraded. Cheetah
Wireless Technologies, Inc. (CWTI) is creating strategic partnerships with
municipalities and private enterprise throughout the Country. These
partnerships create the foundation for wide area CWTI Networks that are planned
across the United States. CWTI's Networks will be available to the public
safety community for a fraction of the cost of what 3G technologies and private
infrastructure are being offered today. Based on the design and mobility
requirements, CWTI Networks will have the ability to provide data throughput
from 500 Kbps to 11 Mbps. It has been described as a "T1 in your pocket". But
the speed is just the tip of the iceberg.
CWTI Networks are based on a hybrid of today's best microcell technologies, a
sophisticated Network Operations Center (NOC) engineered with fault tolerance
as its primary directive, marketing, administrative, sales and technical
support that ensure successful deployment for the wireless data opportunities
presented by the Municipal and private business communities.
The value in the CWTI Network can be found in the Network Operations Center
(NOC). CWTI has engineered a central monitoring facility that can receive
signals from its hybrid technologies and it routes the information to the
appropriate enterprise. The hybrid of technologies maximizes the benefits of
the award winning Mesh Networks, Inc., Mesh Enabled Architecture (MEA) and
802.xx technologies (Tropos and BelAir) to provide a world-class service to the
wireless data user market place. The CWTI NOC has the ability to set up users
with different levels of priority; therefore, it can guarantee the municipal
and utility customer a higher performance level than a non-life critical
application on the network. As the market continues to evolve with new
technology, CWTI will continue to adopt the leading edge micro cell technology
accordingly. CWTI's NOC has been designed to be agnostic of the devices in the
field, thus ensuring CWTI the best opportunity to stay ahead of its
competition. The CWTI NOC scales very well because it can support the multiple
technological and logistical requirements that additional nodes in other
markets will require. CWTI is servicing its customer's requirements with the
"correct" technological solutions and adaptations at its NOC rather than
selling its product line to every customer the same way.
Some inherent features to the CWTI Networks that are based on MeshNetworks MEA
technology, Tropos 802.11 Mesh and BelAir 802.11 include:
- Ad Hoc Peer-to-Peer networks - the need for less infrastructure
- Smaller footprint on the street light poles and infrastructure
- Significantly higher through put- 1Mps- with burst to 11Mps
- Geo-location
- Streaming Video Support
- Static IP or DHCP addressing
- 802.11b LAN solutions Software upgrades are performed over the network
- Support for Voice over IP (VoIP) applications
- The more units on the network the better the performance
